about beezer

I am NOT friends with Tom on myspace.

I wrote a 165 page masters thesis on dirt in rivers…

I’m extremely indecisive.

I am lazy.

I hate running. The only time you’ll see me running is if a very large, ravenous creature is chasing me.

I have climbed Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens and Mount Shuksan. Well, technically, I didn’t summit Adams (strangely, its the easiest of the four). Twice, Adams has defeated me. How sad.

I like NASCAR. It must be the Iowan in me.

…oh yeah, I’m originally from Iowa. For those non-Iowans out there, don’t knock it. I love Iowa.

I really love Mount Rainier. A part of me is and always will be there.

I am known as Beezer, Beason, or Bison, depending on who you are.

I love pikas. If you don’t know what a pika is, you need to wikipedia it… if you ever call a pika a rodent, I will hit you.

I have had have a job as fluvial geomorphologist. I love fluvial geomorphology, but not in the consulting world. Consulting is full of scary management terms and being “billable”. Give me a river and something to study it with, and I’m a happy man.

I am a HUGE nerd. A few weeks ago, when watching baseball, I actually worked on projectile motion physics to see if I could determine the exact distance a baseball traveled when a home run was hit. I found that its not possible without knowing more variables. See? Nerd.

I am EXTREMELY shy until you get to know me.

I generally have extremely terrible success with the opposite sex. We’ll see how that one works out.

I LOVE the Cubs. If you’re a Yankees fan, I don’t want to talk to you (especially if your favorite player is Jeter or A-Rod).

I’m allergic to Ceclor. Now, that isn’t an excuse to find some and see how I react. Great, I probably just gave you all an idea, huh?

I love the boston accent. Bahstahn. Chowdah. Pahk yah cah at Hahvahd yahd. Wicked.

I hate spiders. If I ever had a Golaith bird-eating spider land on me, I WOULD scream like a little girl (A spider SHOULD NOT eat birds). I have an unnatural fear of water deeper than I can touch. Which makes complete sense since I love rivers, right? That’s it though.

That’s enough about me. You should tell me about yourself.
